Life Downside UP!!

Family is everything!
Life seems so stressful lately, and the craziest thing is, is everyone and their dogs are starting to feel the stress of making decisions. I feel like no matter what I do or try I can't get things to work out. Sunday I decided to go home and visit my family and just spend the night with them. My mom pulled me aside and talked to me for hours on how my schooling, Zach, and everything else was going. I swear moms just know exactly what to say when you need to hear it the most. We spent the rest of the night playing ultimate football outside in my back yard. I have the best back yard, and with a large family I swear the possibilities of what we can play are endless. 4 on 4 baseball, to a 5 on 5 football team. I was super sore the next day though, plus I was being a dits and stepped on a soccer ball and sprained my ankle!! Don't ask me how... but with me anything is possible. I think four words describe my sunday...Carmel Apples, football, fall weather, and fruit smoothies!! One hard day turned into an amazing sunday afternoon with my family, I will REALLY miss them when they move far away. I guess just make the best of what you have while you have it, because one day it will be gone.

October 13, 2011
Where do I even begin on explaining October 13, 2011? I guess like any great story I should start from the beginning. The very first day I met Mr. Zach Scott was at his apartment. He was sitting in the corner drawing away, when I so excitedly said, "ohh my goodness, you should date my roommate she's this cute little blonde who loves to draw." his response: "I don't like blondes." On October 13, 2010 I went on my very first date with Zach and yes I'm a true blonde, and to be completely honest I was very hesitant to going on dates at all and was distraught I had to go, especially with a guy who didn't like blondes. Little did I know that one date would turn into a whirl wind of adventures, laughter, hard times, and GREAT times. On our first date we went and took pictures of Logan, then went to a park up in the Island that looked all across Logan, and to end it all he took me to Panda Express where I may have fallen asleep while eating. After that he never heard from me for 3 weeks straight. Of course that never stopped him.
On October 13, 2011 all my dreams and more came true. Zach took me on a date, I knew it had to be special when he called me and asked, "Jess are you gonna get ready tonight, you know shower and stuff?" Good thing the day before he told me it was our 1 year mark. He came and picked me and looked handsome as ever. He told me he wanted to re-do our very first date. So off to Panda Express we went then we went to the temple and ate our dinner. Finally we started driving to the park where I happened to point out this kid I thought was very good looking!! Poor Zach. We walked up to the spot that looked over Logan and found the funniest sign. We sit on a bench and he pulls out this magnificent book with every note and picture we have taken in the past year. He looks at me and says "Jess I have one more surprise for you..." And he pulls out a poem, while I'm reading the Poem he gets down on one knee and says his love spill that blew me away. Of course though it's me and it couldn't have gone that perfect so rewind a little, he got down on one knee, so i got down on my knee's too. He tells me to stand up so I point out the beautiful sunset. Finally he says... "Jess will you marry me?" and my response: "NO... I mean YES I just wanted to know what it felt like to say NO."
Thats not even close to where the surprises end. We then went to get ice cream to celebrate and he had all of my friends and some of my family there to congratulate me. I loved it soo much, and was super surprised when everyone was there. Well Mr. Scott you my dear fell in love with a blond and me I fell in love with my prince charming.

HOT OR NOT?
Why in the world were we fussing about Harry Potter and Ron Wesley... When we should have been keeping our eye on NEVILL.

Juicy JUICE
Yesterday I went on an awesome lunch date with one of my running buddies, Katelyn. Can you say spectacular! We went to Costa Vida and then to Walmart. I swear Wally's world took us way longer than it really needed to... but we survived. Katelynn is a goon when it comes to doing things in a logical order, from the juice aisle, to makeup aisle to buy headbands, then to printer cartridges. Yeah didn't really make sense. It was probably the best afternoon I have had up here, I laughed so hard. We tried to study that afternoon for four hours and I only got one assignment done. It was like last year when me and Katelyn decided we were going to go to the library and study. We talked for 2 hours without getting anything done. Katelyn is 'Italian' yeah thats news to me. I have known her for three years and yesterday I learned that she is 50% Italian, really it explains alot. With me being German and her Italian you defiantly get to hear our opinions whether you really want it or not.
Later that night I had the SPICIEST dinner of my life. So Brooke works for this little old lady weeding her garden, which in result I get lots of peppers. All kinds of peppers. I got these little tiny red chili peppers that you see on Scooby Doo and some green ones and some other colors, I'm sure. Well... Zach decided to put all the peppers into ONE salsa and we put it over rice. I tried one bite and I though my lips were going to fall off. I looked over at Zach and drops of sweat where rolling down his face because it was so spicy. note to self: don't put all peppers in one bowl. We couldn't even finish dinner, it was that bad. Zach kept swishing juice, milk, water, anything to try and stop the burning. You would smell it and you nose would burn, thats how bad it was.

You Say It Best When You Say Nothing At All... ninjas and gangsters
This week has been quite the challenge. It seems like I have a number of mountains to climb, needless to say I feel like I'm climbing them SOLO. It's funny how the lord works though. As soon as those moments of doubt and despair entered my head I was instantly reminded how much I'm loved. Zach is everything for me. He's happy when I'm grumpy and positive when I'm not. This last week consisted mainly of Lee's marketplace.
I love Lee's market place for starters. Throughout college I have experienced many different grocery stores. And YES I am very picky. From Walmart (which I hate), to Smith's (with there lovely $1.50 bread that I ate every signal day my freshman year for PB&J), and now Lee's the best produce in Cache Valley. My favorite was while Zach I were walking down the spaghetti sauce aisle, he STOPS dead in his tracks grabs my hand and starts dancing with me. I was certain we were going to run into something! Two days later we ended back at Lee's, no surprise there, and I found myself being chased through the parking-lot by the guy I LOVE as I was stubbornly making my point. Do we FIGHT?? Its debatable, most of our arguments end up with both of us realizing we are insane and soon to follow the laughter begins.
Today was probably my favorite of all. There I sit reading my 1100 page book about Harry S. Truman... and in comes Zach. SPOTLIGHTS on him and he starts acting out a wrestling match. He was a ninja, gangster, host, and a girl ALL at once. Ten minutes past and he is still acting in the middle of the floor by himself. Thats when I wished I had a recorder. It was the highlight of my night, followed by him lip-singing "the smile on your face" while playing the piano. I'm not sure how I got such a great friend, all I know is I'm LUCKY!!
God never leaves our side, he is constantly reminding us everyday that we are loved and being cared for. For me it was in these small and simple moments that I truly felt cared for. As President Utchdorf says, "God does not need us to love him but oh how we need to love god." Because if we didn't we would never experience these priceless memories of growth and happiness.
